Overview

The Academic Achievement Tracking System (EduTracking) is a centralized platform I developed for the Department of Data Science at Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT). Launched in July 2025 under the mentorship of HOD Dr. Sumit Kumar Maiti, the system addresses the need for a transparent, digital record of student accomplishments. It streamlines the submission, verification, and analysis of academic milestones—ranging from hackathon wins to research publications—replacing manual paperwork with a secure, real-time digital workflow.

Core Features

  • Role-Based Portals: Dedicated interfaces for Students (submission & tracking), Faculty (verification), and Admins (analytics).
  • Real-Time Verification Workflow: A secure, multi-level authentication system that allows faculty to review and verify proofs of achievement instantly.
  • Centralized Document Management: Secure cloud storage for academic records with version control and easy retrieval.
  • Analytics & Reporting Dashboard: Provides administrators with real-time data filtering and visualization to monitor departmental performance metrics.
  • Live Notifications: Instant updates for students regarding the status of their submissions and verifications.

Technology Used

  • Frontend: Built with Next.js, React, and TypeScript for a fast, responsive user interface styled with Tailwind CSS.
  • Backend: Robust API developed using Node.js and Express.js, ensuring secure data handling.
  • Database & Caching: MongoDB for flexible data storage combined with Redis for high-performance caching.
  • DevOps & Cloud: Containerized using Docker and deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a CI/CD pipeline managed via GitHub Actions.
  • Scalability: Designed to support daily active usage by over 500 students and 50 faculty members.

Impact

Since its deployment, the platform has successfully onboarded over 500 active students and 50+ faculty members. It has processed over 1000+ verified achievements, significantly reducing administrative overhead and ensuring a high success rate in data accuracy and retrieval.

And more, including automated report generation and global standard compliance for academic portfolios.
